Chances are, you’ve heard the term “macronutrients” or “macros.” They’re the nutrients your body needs in large amounts – carbohydrates, protein and fat. If you need a refresher, you can check out our Understanding Macronutrients article to learn more. But rest assured, they’re not nearly as complicated as they sound. Think of them as a tool to help you learn more about what you’re eating. This information can inform changes to your diet, which can ultimately help you achieve your health goals.
And now, you can count your macros easily by tracking your food. This feature is available on your member account and on your app.
Here’s how it works
Add a food to get food insights. There, you’ll get a breakdown of your macro- and micronutrients.
Food insights shows the percentages of your calories that are made up of carbs, protein and fat. It also provides recommended ranges for each. This information can help you understand if you’re eating enough of each macronutrient, so you can make changes if necessary.
